Splendid'O | Hospitality

Splendid’O is a cafe and lounge bar located at the garden entrance of the iconic Splendid Palace Hotel in Büyükada. This identity project reimagines a more relaxed and contemporary visual language within the timeless charm of the historic hotel.

Taking inspiration from the original 1960s illustration of the hotel—featuring blue domes, arched doors, and the vivid island spirit—the new brand identity offers a playful yet refined tone. The distinctive logo design captures the architectural rhythm of the hotel’s blue arched entrances, while the use of a typographic apostrophe in the name symbolically splits “Splendid” and “O” as a wink to the location’s vibrant island culture.

The branding extended to coasters, menus, and accessories, incorporating illustrative elements such as lemon blossoms (Itır), banana trees, and lobsters—visual emblems of island living. The illustrated cocktail glass, inspired by vintage hotel posters, serves as a central motif, evoking a sense of sophisticated leisure.

Blending nostalgic elegance with a spirited and modern design approach, Splendid’O creates a refreshing hospitality experience. It offers guests a taste of Büyükada’s cultural layers, while enjoying fresh cocktails and signature bites in a setting that bridges past and present with charm and style.
